Technology has come so far from where it was when I was growing up even! We are seemingly always relying on the world wide web to provide us entertainment, information, ideas, jobs, friends, literally anything is possible on the web! However I'd have to say right now the three favorite websites that I have are very relevant to my age, and point in life.
1. Indeed!
http://www.indeed.com is a site that I've used a lot in the past 2 years. I began using it because I was searching for internships in my degree field, and ended up using it also to find my job that I got at State Farm. I've recently been using it to search for Greater St. Louis Area jobs to start applying for them in my short time left for school. I love that you can select either key words or fields you're interested in to search for jobs. I also like that you can save the job "pages" and apply for them later. I really enjoy that this resource is FREE! That's the best part.
2. Google Drive
drive.google.com is the next site that I can't live without. This is the best way for me to utilize and be organized with school assignments, group projects, notes, and presentations as well! With your google account email address, you get a google drive and access to google docs, google slides, and google sheets. I have an android phone so this goes EVERYWHERE with me! I can access it from my phone, computer, tablet virtually any device. Google Drive makes being a commuter to school a cake walk compared to what it was for elementary school and middle school. Does anyone else remember forgetting homework and having to bring it in the next day because you forgot it? Well now with google drive I can't "forget my homework" anymore. I can access it and print it from a school computer, my own computer, or even my phone to get the assignment. I also use this to teach at St. Peter's Catholic school in Fulton. They have gone to chrome books for the entirety of the school grades k-8. So we do everything off google drive and their computers. Needless to say when the internet goes down it becomes a fun throwback for the students to have to use pencils and paper!
3. Pinterest!
www.pinterest.com is the "fun" site that I couldn't live without right now. While most would say Facebook, or twitter, even Instagram...I'm more fond of Pinterest. Pinterest is the moment of relaxation I get at the end of my day right before I go to sleep. I usually only spend 10-20 minutes on the site/app however my daily routine would be completely off without being able to take that mental break. I mainly use Pinterest for the crafting, and decorating ideas. I also use it to brainstorm organization techniques and inspirational quotes. It's considered a social media website however I find it more like a rss feed reader in all honesty. It may seem a little far fetched for some, but It's a place I can keep ideas, and go back and look at the original articles I'd saved. So I wouldn't trade the last 20 minutes before bed for anything, most in my age group would be on other social media sites for far longer during the day and to each their own. I just find it's hard for me to be on social media a lot and get everything I need to get done in the day doesn't cooperate very well with each other.
